MAGWAY DIVISION – Mr. Min Datha from Yaw Alintan said that 12 junta including one captain died and at least ten were injured in Sakhangyi battle, Htilin Township, Magway Division.
It has been reported that on November 28 at about 1 a.m., local revolutionary force waited and attacked terrorist 70 forces of junta column led by Captain Ye Marn which raided from Htilin to eastern part( local name- Sakhangyi). 12 junta including Captain Nyaung Oo died and about ten junta injured and they were sent to Htilin General Hospital.
“We got information of their route so we waited and attacked. That place was in the forest and there was no civilian. They ( junta) were attacked only one mile far from start. The battle lasted from morning till 11 a.m. Junta Captain Nyaung Oo is also included in casualties list. That was his nickname. We didn’t know his real name. There were four captains in Htilin,” said Mr. Min Datha of Yaw Alintan.
One terrorist junta soldier was captured alive. During battle, junta made airstrike reinforcement and one MI 35 helicopter from Northern west headquarter-Monywa came and fired for about 30 min and retreated back to Htilin Township.
It has been known that junta column led by Captain Ye Marn recklessly fired the eastern part of town with 120 mm heavy weapon on November 28 at over 8 p.m.
