The 27 year old, from the 4th Street in Kagyi Ward of Thingangyun Township was told that he was drafted for the third batch of conscription and sent to the army by the ward administration team. After training, he was sent to the frontlines in Bago Division and was eventually killed in the Shwekyin battle in November. After finding out about his death, his family travelled to Shwekyin to collect his body so they can bury him according to Islamic traditions but was denied by the junta council that got rid of the body.
“The junta council informed the family that he was killed in the Shwekyin battle. So the family went there but they were not even allowed to see the body and were turned back. Mr. Faeros was a Muslim so they requested for his body to be returned so they could bury him according to Islamic traditions but the junta council did not return the body. Mr. Faeros left behind a young daughter and a wife,” said the family acquaintance.
Although the terrorist junta council officially announced that the freshly conscripted soldiers wouldn’t be sent to the frontlines but would serve for the security of their towns, in reality, all the conscripted new soldier were sent to the frontlines after training. As a result, many of them have been killed on the frontlines.
