MYANMAR – The Ministry of Defence, National Unity Government announced that 41 junta soldiers and police including three lieutenant colonels, two majors, two captains and three lieutenants joined the people’s embrace in August.
The 41 junta forces were reported to have contacted and surrendered to the people’s embrace implementation central committee and the PDF battalions and People’s Defence Organisations under the Ministry of Defence, National Unity Government.
A total of 41 junta soldiers and police including three lieutenant colonels, two majors, two captains and three lieutenants abandoned the terrorist junta council and joined the side of the people.
Among them, there were also those who brought along weapons and they were given cash rewards by the NUG Ministry of Defence depending on the type of weapon.
It is said that a total of 19 firearms of various types and ammunition were received from the junta forces who joined the people’s embrace in August.
The junta soldiers and police who wish to join the side of the people, including those who were forcibly conscripted under the junta council’s conscription law, can contact the telegram channel of People’s Embrace at @MyanmarPeople or nearby PDF, PDO and EAO to enter the people’s embrace.
