KARRENI STATE – Adjutant General Colonel Phone Naing of KA said that at least 6 soldiers were killed and ammunition including one 81 mm mortar were seized when a front-line outpost junta council was attacked and captured near the town of Bawlakhe.
At around 7:00 a.m., on August 8th, Karenni Revolutionary Joint Forces launched an offensive attack on the front line outpost camp between Bawlakhe and Nangphe village as a guard on the strategic hill of Bawlakhe. At least 6 soldiers of the Terrorist army were killed. Some of the remaining soldiers ran away with injuries. It is reported that the bodies of terrorist soldiers and a lot of arms and ammunition including one 81-mm long barrel mortar were seized from the occupied camp.
“It was seized this morning between 7 o’clock and 8 o’clock. It was confirmed. We got about 7 or 8 small arms, one 81-mm long barrel mortar. The weapon is 7 or 8, so I think it’s a lot. But there will be some injuries. Currently, our comrades are still there. I don’t know if they will continue forward or not because the ammunition is not enough. If there is enough ammunition, our state will be cleared of the junta council,” KA Adjutant General Colonel Phone Naing said.
The terrorist soldiers are from the 2nd Military Command Headquarters, and they are military council soldiers who were stationed in Maesalong hill before. It is reported that the soldiers who retreated when the Karenni revolutionary forces seized the Maesalong mountain camp, and they were stationed at the Bawlakhe military base as a guard post.
