KARENNI STATE – The Karenni National Defense Force (KNDF) Battalion (11) has announced that Mr. Angelo, commander of KNDF Battalion-11 who was severely injured during a battle in Taung Sa Lone village on the Pekon – Pinlaung border of Southern Shan State on May 8, passed away on the morning of May 9.
On May 10, the funeral ceremony of fallen battalion commander Mr. Angelo was held, expressing condolences to the bereaved family and honouring him as the fallen hero who sacrificed his life for federal democracy and eradicating military dictatorship.
Similarly, Mr. Charles Bo Ni Phe, the platoon commander of the Special Commando unit of KNDF, died on May 8 during the Battle of Taung Sa Lone.
Since February 24, skirmishes between the Allied Defence Force and inhumane military terrorist forces have escalated along the Pekon – Pin Laung border for nearly three months. The atrocious junta mostly raided through air assaults and bombardment.
KNDF and the PDF allied force have not released any information regarding the current state of the battle, and the number of casualties and injuries on both sides could not be confirmed.
The KNDF Battalion (11) is requesting civilian support due to the need for weapons, ammunition, medicines, food, and fuel due to the intensity of the current battle.
