SEOUL, June 5 (Yonhap) — Suga from K-pop sensation BTS completed the Japan leg of his first solo world tour, “D-DAY,” his agency said Monday.
During his three-day concert at Japan’s Pia Arena from June 2 to 4, Suga attracted some 27,000 fans, according to BigHit Music. With all seats sold out, the performance was also live-streamed on the fan community platform Weverse for international fans.
It was the first time in about four years that Suga has held a concert in Japan since the 2019 BTS World Tour.
Suga performed tracks from his album “D-DAY,” which he released this April, along with songs from his previous albums including “Daechwita.”
“I am very excited as it has been four years since I last performed in Japan,” the artist said during his solo concert. “I am grateful to meet you all during this solo world tour,” he added.
Near the end of the gig, Suga thanked his fans, saying, “Thank you all for making such great memories with me for the last three days. I was really happy to perform in Japan.” He then added, “For the next time, we seven [members] will be on the stage.”
Suga will continue his world tour in Bangkok and Singapore before concluding it in Seoul late this month.
