TANINTHARYI DIVISION – Local news sources stated that People’s Defence Forces (PDFs) intercepted the junta infantry column near La Ngu Village in Tha Kyet Taw Village Tract, Taninthayi Division, and there might have been casualties on the junta side.
On Sunday (July 2) at around 8 a.m., PDFs ambushed the junta Light Infantry Battalion (LIB-561) based in Nyaung Pin Kwin Village heading toward Theindaw Village and exchanged fire with them. And then, the junta column resuming on their march were attacked again at around 12 p.m. when they arrived at Taung Bein Village.
During the clash, the junta’s LIB-561 recklessly fired heavy artillery toward Tha Kyet Taw Village Tract and LIB-557 based in Maw Tone Village also reinforced with full manpower of four military vehicles to their Yebyu stronghold.
La Ngu Village is said to be located between Tha Kyet Taw Village and junta’s LIB-561 and is merely an area where only some farms and tents exist.
SAGAING DIVISION – Similarly, the PDFs and Local Defence Forces (LDFs) assaulted the junta military column that departed from Chat Thin Village in Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Division on July 2 at around 7:30 a.m., resulting in many casualties on the junta side which were carried in litters to their stronghold at Chat Thin Village, according to the information from Kawlin info.
