MYANMAR – An announcement was released on Wednesday (July 19) by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development office (FCDO) that they restricted travelling to eight States and Divisions of Myanmar.
The announcement warned against traveling to Mon, Kachin, Chin, Karreni (Kayah), Karen and Nothern Rakhine States, and Sagaing and Magway Divisions and suggested traveling only when it is necessary to Shan State, middle part of Rakhine State and Mandalay and Tanintharyi Divisions.
And they also mentioned that there could be changes without an announcement as the security conditions in Myanmar could be unpredictable.
They said that there were a lot of attacks including shootings and explosions all over the country since the military coup in February 2021.
It was stated that the main targets were junta army or junta army related places which were government buildings, inspection gates, junta owned businesses in Yangon and Mandalay but the attacks could have effect on restaurants, shopping malls and living spaces frequented by foreigners and could also effect the civilians.
And it was also announced that there were significant violence and conflict including air strikes, blasting of heavy weapons, land mines, armed battles by the junta council all over the country.
