SAGAING DIVISION – The fascist junta council have been continuously reinforcing junta troops near the Kawlin Town which was seized by People’s Defence Forces (PDF) and two junta columns are also being deployed close to the town, PDF reported.
Starting from November 30, junta troops of about 70 soldiers in strength have been deployed at Moekaung hill, located 3 miles from northwest of Kawlin Town. In addition, on December 2, another column with 70 junta thugs from Wuntho Town invaded Zeehpyupin Village located at the north of Kawlin and stationing at the shop in the villlage.
“Possibly they (junta army) are planning to regain Kawlin Town. They fired time to time from Wuntho using howitzers,” said a member of the People’s Defence Force.
In addition, there have been many manpower reinforcements using military transport helicopters to junta’s light battalion 120, located between Kawlin and Wuntho towns.
“They frequently reinforced to battalion 120 using helicopters. They may be thinking strong now, and advancements has started,” the PDF comrade commented.
The Kawlin Town was seized by Defence Forces on November 6 and continued to be controlled almost a month now. There had been airstrikes from junta army and some battles between the ground columns, but there was no intense fighting during the month.
The townships People’s Defence Battalions have been providing security to Kawlin Town, managing all the administrative activities, and the residents of the town are returning to their normal lives.
