SHAN STATE – The junta council’s airstrikes in Muse at the northern Shan State on December 2 reportedly killed a child and injured an elderly woman.
Locals reported that the junta council conducted aerial attacks near the Asia World toll gate at the entrance to Muse around 10 p.m. on December 2.
“A woman and her grandchild were hit (by the airstrikes). The child was killed and the woman was injured. The (junta) airstrikes targeted the civilian zone,” said a resident.
The attacked gate is on the Union Highway, on the side of Namphatka and is just one mile from Muse.
It is said that two junta jets were hovering over Muse since 9:30 p.m. that night and started the airstrikes at around 10 p.m.
“They bombed 105 mile and the entrance toll gate as well. They attacked the area leading to the town of Muse from the air,” said another resident.
Junta artillery and airstrikes had caused frequent civilian casualties in Muse Region. Previously on November 26 and 27, junta air and artillery strikes targeting near the Muse 105 mile trade zone had killed five civilians.
