THAILAND – Some Burmese who were present at the Thai Immigration Department on December 4 confirmed that a colonel from the Military Advanced Training School of the Terrorist Junta Council, who is in Thailand, applied privileged visas, which cost a lot of money at immigration in Bangkok.
In Bangkok, Thailand, at the Thai immigration Division 1, a senior military officer wearing a full uniform with the shoulder badge of the Junta Council Advance Training School, was applying for a privileged visa (Elite Visa). It is learned that family members and relatives of the top leaders of the Junta Council Army are applying for privileged visas that allow them to enter and leave Thailand at any time.
“I think the colonel I met today is probably a military attaché. The colonel came legally according to the passport in his hand. I think he was trying to apply for the community members related to them, they apply visas for someone. When the situation is bad, people who can afford it, the military community, businessmen related to the military buy Elite Visas and move,” said a Burmese agent who provides visa services in Thailand.
Elite Visas are granted to rich people with special privileges to live in Thailand with unlimited entry for 5-years, 10 years, 15 or 20 years. A 5-year privileged visa costs 900,000 Thai baht, and a 10-year privileged visa costs 1.5 million Thai baht, 15-year privileged visa is 2.5 million Thai baht, 5 million Thai baht for privileged visas for over 20 years stay in Thailand based on financial ability.
