NORTHERN SHAN STATE – Some residents of Laukkaing said that the junta council’s planes fired with machine guns and dropped bombs on the center of Laukkaing.
On July 14, at around 2:00 a.m., some planes from the Air Force of the junta council came to the center of Laukkaing and opened fire with machine guns and then dropped bombs. The people of Laukkaing had to flee. Some residents of Laukkaing said that there were injuries due to the recent shooting but the exact details are not yet known.
“There was not just one plane. They shot with machine guns. They dropped bombs. When we heard the explosion, we all ran. We were scattered because it was dark. The buildings in the city were shot with machine guns from the plane. They shot into the city, the center of the city,” said a resident of Laukkaing.
Due to the bombardment by the junta council’s aircrafts, there was a lot of damage to the buildings in the center of Laukkaing, including the Huangli Lihua Hotel and the Phuli Lai Hotel and there were also said to be many injured.
