SHAN STATE (SOUTH) – Locals reported that two farmers of Thitpinkauk Village in Pinlaung Township at Pa’O self administered region were hit and injured when junta subordinate Pa’O National Army (PNA) recklessly fired around noon on July 18.
There was no fighting, but two PNA soldiers opened fire near the farm and two farmers were hit.
“They (PNA soldiers) were practicing shooting. Playing with guns. Since they did it on the farm, people were hit. They didn’t take responsibility for anything. There was not even an apology,” said a villager close to the farm.
The two farmers who were hit in the shoulder and mouth by PNA soldiers’ firing are receiving treatment at Aung Pan military Hospital, and one is in critical condition.
Many war displaced civilians from places such as Pekon, Mobye and Banmauk have been sheltering at Thitpinkauk Village. At present, they have been facing heavy weapon shelling but it is difficult to move further for those have already fled the war many times.
