MAGWAY DIVISION – The junta forces are abducting civilians to use as porters everyday at Ywarmon intersection in Natmauk Township, even targeting middle aged men, according to families and friends of the abducted people.
Ywarmon Village is base to a junta battalion and the junta forces there have been abducting young people and middle aged men by setting up a base at Ywarmon intersection or raiding villages in civilian disguise.
“It is not just the young people who were abducted, those in their 40s and 50s were also abducted. Now, even men in their 40s or 50s dare not go outside in the villages. They will also mainly use civilian cars when they come to abduct civilians,” explained a local resident.
It is reported that the junta forces committed abductions at the villages of Nyaungai, Kyarhtoo, Bawai, Peikchibtaw, Wahpan, Sankan, Thayintaw, Maekhinchaung, Pantawkyin, Pinmyohaung, Latkhotepin, Sayanai, Shwepatot, Datnalonpin, Paukkan, Kyaukkhwet, Htanpinkone, Phattaw, Kanswel and Myaukpantawkyin in Natmauk Township.
“They are abducting people at the villages along the road connecting the towns of Natmauk, Kyaukpadaung and Meikhtila. The victims are ordinary, countryside people who are easily scared. Junta forces would just pick them up on the road and demanded ransom for those who are too old to be conscripted,” said a friend of an abducted person.
The terrorist junta council has accelerated the forced conscription and arrest of young people across the country for the military training batches starting April.
