KARENNI STATE – Locals reported that the fights were going on in Mong Lone Ward in Loikaw City and over 500 of terrorist junta forces had deployed in the city.
It was said that the resurgent war has been going on, since the returnees returned to their homes at the end of June. It has been more than a month since the daily battle has been going on in Loikaw.
“The junta forces deployed there when our troops retreated. Our allied forces fight back. It was not a close fight. shot back and forth from a distance, so the casualties are unknown. There were casualties on our side,” said a ground source.
At present, there were fierce fights in Mong Lone, Government Technical College (GTC), 6 and 11 brick buildings, and the people in residential wards have already evacuated.
“The terrorist junta forces stationed at my house. They were firing the entire ward under cover of residential houses. Even if the situation is stable, I don’t know whether I have my house to return or not,” said a displaced person.
It was reported that the Revolutionary Forces controlled more than 80 percent of Loikaw City for more than 7 months, but in June, they were forced to retreat due to the offensive attacks of the junta army with about 500 forces.
The junta’s supporters often spread propaganda on social media pages (Facebook) that rehabilitation is already underway in order to resettle in Loikaw City.
