MAGWAY DIVISION – It has been known that five civilians were injured in Myitchay Township due to the junta forces from Myitchay Police Station firing heavy weapons while the people were welcoming PDFs (People Defence Force) coming back from battles.
It has been reported that junta forces fired at the civilians welcoming the PDFs who came back after attacking the junta camp in Ayadaw Township with Eugenia branches at about 8 a.m. on July 29.
A local man shared that the civilians were probably fired at because there was an informer who reported to the junta council.
He added that three women and two men between 20 and 50 years in age were injured but they are safe now after receiving treatment by PDF.
A female PDF soldier of Pakokku Township confirmed that the junta forces received news that the people of Myitchay Township were welcoming the PDFs who had returned with a victory, and they had opened fire with heavy weapon.
She added that there were few injuries and zero death.
In Myitchay Town, the junta soldiers and police are only stationed at Myitchay Police Station located at Myothit Ward, according to locals.
It was also reported that there were sounds of small weapons firing for about 20 minutes at over 6 p.m from that police station.
