SAGAING DIVISION – In Shwebo Township, the district police major Aung Zaw Myo was shot and killed, and a gun and a car were seized, Shwebo Sons Without Borders said.
O August 1 at 8:00 a.m., the district police major, Aung Zaw Myo, who was returning home from the police station, was ambushed by the revolutionary army on the road. One M16 gun and the car he was riding in were seized from him.
“The policeman’s house is in the place where he was shot dead. When he was returning home from the police station, we waited and shot. We were able to seize the M16 he was holding and the car he was riding in. We fought this mission with 5 comrades. Now we have been able to retreat to safety,” explained an official from Shwebo Sons Without Borders.
It is understood that the mission to clean up the district police major Aung Zaw was carried out in the city by cooperation of the Shwebo Sons Without Borders group, the Dragon Brothers and the Mine Monsters group.
After the shooting, Shwebo Township was cordoned off by the junta council forces and some young people were fleeing for fear of being arrested, local residents said.
