KACHIN STATE – The terrorist junta council’s military base at Insut Village on Sumprabum road was being attacked by Kachin Independence Army (KIA), Hkakabo People’s Defence Force (KPF) and allied forces on August 2, the military news source of Kachin said.
The junta’s military base near Tiyangzug Village south of Insut Village was attacked on August 1 and seized on the morning of August 2. After that, the revolutionary forces proceeded to attack the military base at Insut Village.
“This morning (August 2), the KIA/KPF joint forces successfully attacked and captured Tiyangzug camp. There were no military prisoners. Multiple weapons and ammunition were seized. The junta thugs fled. The battle lasted the whole day. Junta thugs fled last night. They are attacking the junta camp at DaeY Insut Village now. It is the camp above Tiyangzug,” said a Kachin military news source.
Colonel Nawbu, who is in charge of KIA’s information department, also confirmed that three military council bases near Tiyangzug Village, which were disturbing the public, were fully captured on August 2 morning.
The KIA news agency stated that the junta troops from those bases carried out military activities on the Myitkyina-Sumprabum road and that fighting is still intense as the junta army was also reinforcing the troops from Putao to Sumprabum.
