SHAN STATE (NORTH) – The Shan Human Rights Foundation (SHRF) announced on August 6 that 13 civilians were killed and 43 houses were damaged in an atrocious junta army’s airstrikes on Hseni Town.
According to the statement, the fascist council conducted airstrikes as revenge to those towns that Kokang Army MNDAA captured when MNDAA attacked Junta troops in Lashio. Due to the terrorist army’s airstrike, 13 civilians were killed, injured 24 others, and destroyed 43 residential buildings.
3 schools were among the damaged ones, and it was described as an act of concerted revenge since the MNDAA started attacking Lashio City in Part-2 of 1027 Operation, where there had been no fighting since January after Operation 1027 Part-1.
“We have now published the damage to Hseni city, and after that, we will continue to issue reports on the damage and deaths of other cities in order,” said Nang Hmwe Kham from SHRF.
Starting on July 3, the atrocious junta’s warplanes dropped 500-pound bombs on the town and nearby villages, including near the Hseni police station. The airstrike towards Hseni Myoma Market on July 18 killed at least 10 civilians and injured more than 20 people.
The bomb dropped on July 25 was larger than that caused by the 500-pound bomb, the statement mentioned.
