SHAN STATE ( NORTH) – Locals had to flee as the fighting broke out again on August 6 at Lelhtwea village, which is near Hsihseng Town in the Pa’O region.
The clash between PNLA troops against the combined military council troops and PNO occurred in the east of Hsihseng Town. According to a local, there are about 300 people who had to flee due to the war.
“Since the PNLO/PNLA headquarters were fired with heavy weapons, everyone has expected that the war will start again,” he said.
Recently, there have been warnings among the villagers that they could be fighting again at Naungyin, Loitaphee Hill, Htweehankwei, Htweehantwai, Laipay, villages, etc.
Battles broke out again in Hsihseng after the junta army attack on the Nawngkyaw base heavy weapons division and PNLO headquarters in Bhamak on August 3. The residents said that the junta council and the PNO rekindled the battles again.
A military news resource predicted that the fighting targets could be towards Nawngkar model village, where U Aung Kham Htu is living, and Hopong Town, where the military council troops are located.
Almost 80% of Hsihseng Town was destroyed in the battles that started on January 21 in the Pa’O region. The reports mentioned 96 civilian deaths until July 29. 148 people were injured, 1,088 buildings were damaged and 67,800 people were displaced from the war. The civilians are forced to flee again in the restarting of the fighting.
