MYANMAR – The Chinese embassy in Myanmar published a notice on August 6, asking its citizens to immediately leave Lashio City and northern Shan State.
The embassy warned that the current military and security situation is tense in Lashio and northern Shan State, asked the Chinese nationals to report to China Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chinese embassy in Myanmar and the Chinese consulate in Myanmar, and also warned to immediately return to China if possible due to the concerning developments regarding security.
The announcement also mentioned that the Chinese nationals can contact the Chinese embassy in Myanmar and the Chinese consulate in Mandalay during emergency situations.
Currently, the terrorist junta council and junta supporters have been carrying out attacks and protests targeting China after accusing that China is behind the battles in northern Shan State.
