MANDALAY DIVISION – Students and Teachers from University of Technology – Yadanarpon Cyber City in Pyin Oo Lwin Township returned home after junta forces entered and set camp inside the university on August 7.
The university is located near Yadanarpon Cyber City, between Pyinsar Village and Thonetaung Village in Pyin Oo Lwin Township. It is said that the students and teachers became frightened and left the university to return home after junta soldiers entered the university premises and set up camp on August 7 morning.
“Junta forces set up camp at Yadanarpon Cyber City University in Pyin Oo Lwin 24 mile Pyinsar today (August 7). So, students didn’t attend class and returned home. Some teachers also returned home,” said a student.
In addition, security has also been tightened at Watwun Gate at the entrance to Pyin Oo Lwin with all vehicles including private cars, passenger buses and motorcycles subjected to strict checks and suspicious individuals getting detained.
