MYANMAR – Union Prime Minister Mhan Win Khaing Than of the National Unity Government (NUG) reiterated the need to plan and implement the administration mechanism, military, logistics, security and legal systems as well as IDP assistance programs in advance for Mandalay Region.
The Union Prime Minister brought it up while speaking at the meeting no. 29/2024 of the Central Committee for implementing Interim Regional People’s Administration Mechanism held on August 8.
He reminded to plan and implement in advance the needed systems for military, logistics, security and legal, IDP assistance and administration for Mandalay, and to find the source of the problems and punish the perpetrators while avoiding falsely punishing those who have not committed wrongs when handling the problems in the region.
This is the second time the Union Prime Minister brought this to attention after reminding at the NUG Cabinet Meeting No. 21/2024 held on July 30 to prepare necessary steps in various sectors as the waves of resistance of the defence forces are heading to Mandalay.
He has also warned to include systematic planning to assist the internally displaced people and the solution to potential medicine shortage.
“As for the financial implementation, I urge to focus more on the current emergency situation and to directly assist the IDP sector. As there are medicine shortage in the country, we also need to make proper plans to supply medicine and medical products to our revolutionary comrades and the civilians,” said the Union Prime Minister.
