NORTHERN SHAN STATE – The MNDAA reported that 13 members of the junta council who were dying in Lashio township were found hiding under a bunker in the Northeast Military Command and given lifesaving treatment.
On August 8th, during an inspection of Lashio Northeast Military Headquarters by Allied forces, 13 wounded soldiers were found under a bunker. The injured soldiers are found alive, hiding under the bunker. They are starving for days. They were suffering from a cold and a wound infection and were dying. The 13 wounded soldiers were rescued by the Northern Alliance, some of whom were barely alive when they were found.
After that, the MNDAA troops took the injured from the bunker to the hospital in the back line for health checks and medical treatment. According to international law, during the war, both sides are responsible for the sick and wounded. MNDAA says both sides are responsible for the humanitarian treatment and protection of prisoners of war and civilians, as well as for protecting basic human dignity and rights.
The MNDAA has always held the spirit of humanitarianism, has established policies prioritizing the treatment of civilians and prisoners of war during the conflict, and is protecting the prisoners of war.
However, the terrorist Min Aung Hlaing’s terrorist army not only failed to protect the injured ethnic armed forces during the battle but also relied on the country’s military strength to carry out vicious airstrikes and bombings. Many times, it was done in civilian residential areas and non-military targets. It was said that countless civilians had lost their lives.
