Residents said that the military council dropped a bomb from a jet in front of the Mrauk-U Hotel in Mrauk-U City, Rakhine State, last Thursday (August 10) at noon.
Initial reports were received from residents that a total of four, passengers and the driver of the trishaw, were killed when a military council’s shelling fell on them.
“It was around 12:30 p.m. that junta aerial bomb the area. It shelling fell in front of Mrauk-U Hotel and the Nawarrat Hotel. The explosion also hit the passerby trishaw on street. Four or five people have reportedly died on the spot. The victims were quite disfigured and died in misery. Some of the corpses had their intestines falling out and the body parts were scattered all over the place. The scene was terrifying,” said the informant.
The phone line communication is not good (for interviews) but according to the initial report, at least 4 were dead and at least 6 were injured.
The military council ordered aerial bombardment and heavy weapons fire on the areas controlled by the revolutionary forces (towns and villages that were no longer combat zones) every day.
The Northern Three Brotherhood Alliance asked Chinese authorities and the international community from communities to help stop/prevent such airstrikes by the Junta Forces.
