SAGAING DIVISION – The the body of the company commander under Shwebo District Battalion 26 who was killed in a camp seizing battle in Thabeikkyin Town was brought back to the mother battalion and and buried following a last rites ceremony.
Mr. Hein Zin Aung (aka) Bo. Tay, who was the company commander and column commander, was killed by the enemy bullet during the fight on August 9 to capture the enemy camp in Yehtwetywa Village.
“At the time of his fall, we have yet to capture the camp, so we had to continue the offensive the next day. On the 11th, we were able to seize the camp site and recovered Saya Tay’s dead body,” Cho Kyi, a female soldier of the Information and Public Relations Department, said.
It is reported that the body of the fallen soldier was brought back to the mother battalion, and at 9:00 a.m. on August 12, he was buried after reading the last rites alongside his family.
Over 100 soldiers from Shwebo District Battalion 26 are taking part in the second wave of Operation 1027 and six of them have fallen during the battles to seize towns and enemy camps.
Last July 16th, Comrade Pawter Gyi (aka) Than Lin of the Shwebo District Battalion 26 fell during the battle to seize the town of Sint Gu.
