SAGAING DIVISION – The terrorist junta council launched an offensive in Ye U Township and over 3,000 civilians from more than ten villages had to flee to safety, reported Mr. Htoo Khant Zaw (Amaethar), the information officer of Ye U based People’s Defence Comrade.
Around 80 terrorist junta soldiers stationed at Ye U Traditional Hospital were reported to have raided the villages to the west of Ye U Town on August 15 with guns and heavy weapons ablaze.
That terrorist junta column was located between Musone and Masoeyein at the time of reporting and was headed towards Chone Village and Kyikone Village. Moreover, it is said that junta soldiers were waiting near Kanbyar at the entrance of Tabayin to welcome that junta column.
As that junta column is raiding the villages, over 3,000 civilians from more than 10 villages including the villages of Motesi, Nyotetone, Pyitaw and Masoeyein are reported to have fled their homes in a hurry in the rain.
“The terrorist junta column is made up of around 80 soldiers. They launched an offensive towards the villages in the west from their base in Ye U Traditional Hospital while firing their weapons. Now they are staying between Musone and Masoeyein and are preparing to move towards Chone Village and Kyikone Village. They are expected to switch troops at Tabayin and return to Ye U. Because the terrorist junta column raided the west (of Ye U) starting around 4:30 a.m. this morning (August 15), the people had to flee to safety in the rain,” said Mr. Htoo Khant Zaw.
