BAGO DIVISION – An official from Phyu Township People’s Defence Organisation (PDO) said that a mine attack was carried out on a junta patrol train between Nyaungkarya Village and Light Infantry Battalion 306, south of Phyu City.
It was reported that they were prepared to launch a mine attack when they received information that a train loaded with weapons and food supply would come along the train tracks between Nyaungkarya Village and LIB 306 south of Phyu City on August 15, at 12:50 in the morning.
While they were waiting, the patrol train arrived first before the ration train and the train was attacked by a mine, causing the train to overturn and be damaged. It was said that the casualty and damage from the attack is under investigation.
The attack was carried out by KNLA, PDF Battalion 3503, Arlawaka Column and Phyu Township PDO.
