The Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) in Northern Shan State announced on Saturday (August 17) that it has released 296 more families of terrorist military council members.
It is said the allied forces strictly implemented a policy of prioritizing good relations for prisoners of war to promote humanitarianism.
“A total of 296 prisoners of war of Min Aung Hlaing’s coup army were released again (by the allied officers and soldiers),” the MNDAA stated.
Following the policy for prisoners of war, the Allied forces provided humanitarian treatment to the prisoners of war of Min Aung Hlaing’s soldiers who were injured during the war.
Among those who were released this time were some injured people who have recovered under the treatment of the allied forces, the statement said.
“The prisoners of war expressed that they were very disappointed with Min Aung Hlaing’s coup regime and said they wanted to live a good life with their families after returning home,” according to the statement released.
Since August 6, the MNDAA-allied political department has released more than 2,000 prisoners of war and their family members en masse, paid for their travel expenses, and sent them to safety.
