SAGAING DIVISION – Revolution news sources said that the revolutionary forces have captured the entire Tabayin Township including the town of Tabayin.
It is said that the revolutionary forces captured the entire township on August 18 morning and are currently conducting clearance operations and that there are both casualties and surrenders from the junta forces.
“Tabayin Town is captured. They are sweeping the area now. The remaining junta dogs (junta forces) ran away just this morning (August 18). The entire town was successfully captured. There were casualties and surrenders among the junta dogs. Weapons and ammunition were also seized,” said a revolution news source.
While the revolutionary forces were launching attacks to capture Tabayin, the terrorist junta council bombed the town and its surroundings with a Yak 130 fighter jet at 7:35 a.m., 8:57 a.m. and 9 a.m. on August 17. Then a Mi 35 helicopter that took off from the junta Northwest Command in Monywa carried out airstrikes at 9:47 a.m., 9:49 a.m. and 9:52 a.m. This was followed by 11 bombing attacks by a Y12 plane between 10:15 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. then another three airstrikes by a Mi35 helicopter at 1:22 p.m., 1:24 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Despite the junta council desperately defending from the air, revolutionary forces successfully captured Tabayin.
Several government offices in Tabayin have been captured by revolutionary forces as early as this January.
