YANGON DIVISION – According to some airport staffs, the terrorist military council do not allow the young men and women with visit type passports and traveling to Dubai and middle east countries to board the plane and were being asked to turn away from Yangon Airport.
After the statement announced on August 14 that all those traveling abroad with a PV (visit type passport) but going abroad with employment visa from Myanmar will be screened at the airport and border gates and will be banned to go abroad. There has been many restrictions at the airport for those going to Dubai and middle east countries.
“Dubai and middle east countries are very rich countries, so people from Myanmar working there go with PV passport. That’s why they were banned at the airport. Many of them have only one-way tickets. They cannot show their hotel bookings for staying in Dubai but have show money. They are often sent back because they do not meet the requirements. About 60 out of 100 people going to Dubai are sent back from the airport. They are not allowed to board the plane,” said the news source close to Yangon Airport Immigration staffs.
At Yangon Airport, the members of fascist council asked questions to all those who were going abroad, mainly “Where are you going?, Why are you going there for?, Show the return ticket and hotel booking, and show money. Is this the first time going abroad? Are you coming back?, etc” and those people who cannot answer well were banned from traveling.
In addition, people under the age of 40 who are going to travel abroad for the first time are also under strict scrutiny and are required to submit applications in advance. The person has to prove that he/she is not being called up for military service and need someone to guarantee and signed together that he/she will return if has to serve in the military.
