MAGWAY DIVISION – An official from Yesagyo Township People’s Defence Organisation (PDO) reported that they captured Ma U Police Station in Yesagyo Township on August 24 morning after blocking it off for one month and then burning it down.
The People’s Defense Forces (PDF) surrounded and blocked off the police station starting July 25, then launched an offensive around 2 a.m. on August 24 and successfully captured it after exchanging fire for over two hours.
“We attacked them early this morning (August 24) after surrounding them for a month. We engaged in an exchange of fire for around two hours to enter the police station. The entire station (of junta forces) ran away after that. They ran towards Sinphyushin Bridge by motorboat,” said the official of Yesagyo PDO.
It is said that one large jammer, an M79 grenade launcher, six 60mm grenades, for Energa grenades, 280 G3 bullets, 50 9mm bullets, four landmines, a generator, two batteries, and several accessories were confiscated from the captured police station, and the defence forces departed from there in the afternoon after setting fire to the entire police station.
The attack and capture was carried out by Yesagyo PDO along with allied forces, Salingyi Special Task Force – SSTF, Myaing PDO, Nway Oo Sitthe Yaylelkyun Region Column and Pakokku District Battalion 9. It is reported that there were no casualties on the side of the defence forces.
