SAGAING DIVISION – The junta council column that captured and killed 3 local men in Kantbalu Township was attacked on August 27th at 11:00 a.m., and 3 soldiers were killed and more than 10 weapons were seized, according to local defense comrades in the ground attack.
A column of more than 200 terrorist soldiers including soldiers of the junta council from the LIB 361 and Pyu Saw Htee soldiers were attacked near Pint Tha village on their way from Chap Gyi village Camp to Kyunhla town.
“Three bodies from them were found. The weapons were confiscated by the battalion, so we can only estimate, it’s maybe more than 10. They were carried away on five motorcycles. We did not know because they were on the other side from us. We had to go back to clean it up later. The bodies were lying flat in the field like this,” said a revolutionary soldier who was involved in cleaning up the battle area.
The column was attacked with 3 mines, and after exchanging fire for about an hour, the soldiers of the junta council fled with more than 20 stretchers to Kan Bauk village near Kyung Hla city where the junta council camp is located.
He added that during the fighting, 2 shells of howitzer weapons were fired from Paekone village, where the Junta Council’s army is stationed, but the revolutionary comrades were not harmed.
The column that was attacked was the column which burned down U Kin Kyi village on August 25th and they also killed Ko Naing Min, Ko Hlaing Min and Ko Zin Ko Oo in their 30s.
