MYANMAR – Assistance Association of Political Prisoners (AAPP) reported that the atrocious junta army killed up to 40 men, including two journalists, in August.
According to the data compiled by AAPP, the terrorist junta regime has killed 40 men nationwide between August 1 and 27, and two journalists were among those killed.
The terrorist junta army raided and shot the house of Mr. Htet Myat Thu, freelance journalist, in Let Pya Village of Kyaikto Township, on August 21, killing Mr. Htet Myat Thu and Mr. Win Htut Oo, a local reporter of The Democratic Voice of Burma (DVB).
Reporters Without Borders (RSF) said on August 26 that it was shocked by the killing of two freelance journalists by the terrorist junta council.
According to RSF’s data, seven journalists have been killed and 62 journalists have been arrested since the terrorist junta council seized power in 2021.
From February 1, 2021, when the terrorist army seized power from the Civil Government, until August 27, 2024, 5,570 people were killed by the terrorist junta army, according to the data of AAPP.
In addition to this, the Assistance Association of Political Prisoners has also compiled a separate list of around 2,300 victims whose names are still under investigation and need to be confirmed.
