CHIN STATE – Chinland Council coalition forces are attacking the junta forces in Thantlang and the junta council is defending using air and artillery attacks, reported Salai Htet Ni, the spokesperson for Chin National Army (CNA).
When Chinland Council coalition forces attacked the captured the junta base camp in Thantlang in early August, the junta forces there retreated into the Town and clashes have been going on against those junta forces.
“The battles are still ongoing. They have picked steady buildings as their base. They can deliver weapon and ammunition reinforcement from above (by air). They can also provide strong heavy artillery fire support from Hakha,” Salai Htet Ni explained why they have yet to fully capture Thantlang on August 29.
He added that there are currently no other battles in Chin State.
The Chinland Council coalition forces have captured the junta bases between Hakha and Thantlang and cut off junta supply routes since July 22 before they attacked Thantlang. They successfully captured at least eight junta bases between July 22 and early August and captured several prisoners of war and arsenal.
There have also been casualties among the coalition forces during the battles.
