MYANMAR – A source close to the Three Brotherhood Alliance shared that China who has been supporting the terrorist junta council pressured the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) to immediately cease all offensives.
In a threatening August 29 notice, China told TNLA to put an immediate stop to all battles and maintain peace in northern Myanmar and the China-Myanmar border, to cooperate with china, to guarantee safety to Chinese nationals and businesses in the China-Myanmar border, to work for peace and stability in the China border area and to eliminate military actions that can threaten the safety of Chinese citizens and their properties. China also threatened that they will carry out punishment if their demands are not met and warned that TNLA shall be responsible for the consequences.
“The notice from China could be their way of shielding Lashio and TNLA controlled territories from junta air strikes. It could also be because the junta council begged China. That is one thing. However, as the Three Brotherhood Alliance is working to eliminate military dictatorship, if they have the backing of the people of Myanmar, they don’t need to mind anything and continue with the revolution. China is just up to its usual trick of using fire on one side and water on another side. So, they need to be observed. It is impossible that (the Three Brotherhood Alliance) will not continue their operations across the country that is not part of the China-Myanmar border because of this notice. The situation remains to be seen. The rest is up to the decision of the leaders of the Three Brotherhood Alliance,” said the source close to the alliance.
On the other hand, a revolutionary news source shared that the notice by China could be an intervention to stop the conflicts and let the Three Brotherhood Alliance retain control of the territories they have captured so far and that China will intervene so that the junta council will not attack their lost territories.
“Reading deeper into the notice by china, it can be interpreted as China telling everyone to stop fighting and peacefully maintain the current position. It can also be read as China telling the junta council to give up the territories they’ve already lost,” said the revolutionary news source.
