TANINTHARYI DIVISION – Myeik People’s Defence Organization (Myeik PaKaPha) reported that a land mine attack near Yanhpo Village towards terrorist council’s infantry column killed 4 junta thugs.
The junta army of Tanintharyi Township Zawea Village based light battalion 556 marched with about 100 soldiers towards Tanintharyi Town at about 7:30 a.m. on August 31. The mentioned column was attacked using two land mines when reaching near Yanhpo Village. 4 junta thugs were killed and many others were injured, and the junta column halted near Yanhpo village.
The attack was carried out jointly by Myeik People’s Defence Organization – PaKaFa and Tanintharyi Yoma People’s Defence Force, and the members of the People’s Defence Forces have withdrawn to a safe place.
In addition, a food truck coming from the Myeik town was jointly attacked using land mines and small arms by the Myeik People’s Defence Organization – PaKaFa and Tanintharyi Yoma group near the Banlamut Tract, the Chaung Nyi ko Village and again near the Yanhpo Village.
At present, there is military tension along the Myeik – Tanintharyi Road, and people are requested to drive with cars windows down, and the trucks to open Tarpaulins at the back. A warning was also issued to passenger cars not to travel between 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., and to avoid driving near the terrorist council’s convoy.
