MANDALAY DIVISION: It was known that “To Shweman (To Golden Mandalay) Campaign” had been organised by cooperation with the Students’ Unions from (15) universities in Mandalay to support the comrades and war victimised civilians.
Mandalay Based Students’ Unions announced on September 1 that the military tensions has been intensified in Mandalay region, along with “1027 Military Operation”, Ethnic Revolutionary Organisations, People’s Defence Forces and their coalition forces had captured Mogok, Thabeikkyin, and Singu and the revolutionary forces are performing military actions in Madaya, Patheingyi, Natogyi, Myingyan and Taungthar.
It is also mentioned in the announcement that the defeated junta’s council is committing the military war crimes against the civilians who have been displaced and facing difficulties in daily survival and health care.
So, Mandalay Based University Students’ Unions are planning fund raising programs to support revolutionary comrades who are performing military services and the war victimised civilians.
The campaign member Mr. Stan from Mandalay Based University Students’ Unions said, “Most of the money earned from the current campaign will be provided to on- ground revolutionary forces in Mandalay region and Mandalay Region Based Ones. Certain percentage will be provided to the Strike Forces, and funding for Internally Displaced People. The civilians are urged to join our campaign as much as they can.”
So, the revolutionary civilians in Mandalay region are encouraged by Mandalay Based University Students’ Unions to join the current campaign to show “Blood is thicker than water” as Mandalaynians.
Mandalay Based Students’ Unions are the coalition force which is formed by cooperation with University Students’ Unions from (15) different universities such as Mandalay Yadanabon University, Mandalay University of Foreign Languages, Mandalay University, Mandalay Technological University, Technological University (Yadanabon Cyber City), Myanmar Information Technological University, Dental University (Mandalay), the Revolutionary Front of the Students’ Union of the University of Medicine (Mandalay), Mandalay Computer University, Computer University (Mandalay), Medical Technology University( Mandalay), National Culture and Arts University (Mandalay), the University of Technology (Mandalay), the University of Traditional Medicine, Nursing School (Mandalay) etc. The members are still involving in the activities against the military dictator in different military regions from revolutionary strike periods shortly after the coup to the current armed revolution, as said by Mandalay University Students’ Unions.
