MAGWAY DIVISION – An official from MVP Revolution Force reported that they attacked the junta stations in Myaing Town as part of 8+ Anyar Myay Operation and destroyed the municipal office, legal office and USDP office of the junta council.
Starting around 7:00 a.m. on September 7, revolutionary forces attacked the junta checkpoint and a two storied bunker on the Myaing-Pakokku Road in eastern Myaing. After an exchange of fire that lasted over an hour, they were able to successfully capture the bunker.
However, they had to fall back as they did not have sufficient heavy weapons or ammunition to destroy the bunker and instead raided and destroyed the municipal office, legal office and USDP office of the junta council by setting them on fire.
“The bunker has a pretty solid thickness. There might’ve been some casualties. We were able to approach close to the bunker but could not destroy it as we didn’t bring an RPG. Moreover, the bunker was reinforced further. We heard that they used the people from nearby villages as labourers. As we also ran out of bullets, we had to retreat. We were able to set the municipal office on fire. We waited in the USDP office for junta forces while we set fire to the municipal office. They could’ve arrived in around five minutes. They tried to come out but because we had the initiative, they only came to the gate. We were prepared to go all out if they came out,” said the official from MVP Revolution Force.
The attack was carried out by 8+ Anyar Myay Operation Team, MVP Revolution Force, Myaing PDO, Monywa District Battalion 27 Company 3 Eagle Force, Anyar Myay Coalition, Sin Yine Yarzar, God of Myaing, Battalion 16 Company 3, Anyar Myay Guerrilla Force Myaing, Cobra People’s Defence Force, Ko Mote Soe Team, PKU Underground Force, Tamar Myay Guerrilla Force – Myaing, Damingyi Team, Galone Battalion 1 Company 2 and Myaing Township Drone Team.
