SHAN STATE (NORTH) – MNDAA (Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army) announced that No. 1 Public Hospital, run by CDM health care workforces, has vaccinated more than 400 children in Lashio, a city captured by MNDAA in northern Shan State.
September 11 was the day of the monthly vaccination for newborns at No. 1 Public Hospital, and there had been overwhelming response with people even in the early morning to vaccinate their children under the organization of the relevant health workers. Starting from May 11 this year, free vaccine for newborns and children under 3 years of age have been provided at No. 1 Public Hospital on every 11th day of every month from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. BCG vaccine, Polio vaccine, Pentavalent vaccine and measles vaccine are given free of charge to newborns and children of appropriate age in special areas.
Children’s vaccination time was divided into six phases with the attention of the Special Regional Management Committee and the cooperation of various departments, and the project has been successfully implemented for 5 months so far. No. 1 Public Hospital’s vaccination work is progressing smoothly. People in special areas chose to take their children to the hospital for vaccination.
Nearly 300 newborns have been vaccinated as of noon on September 11. It is estimated to be more than 400 after having been vaccinated throughout the day.
MNDAA said that under the organization and guidance of MNDAA, the team waiting for vaccination was properly arranged and the entire vaccination process was in order.
