MYANMAR – Scattered rain shower is expected in Kachin State, Shan State, Chin State, Karen State, Sagaing Division, Bago Division, Magway Division and Tanintharyi Division, and sporadic heavy rain is expected in Karenni State, Rakhine State, Yangon Division and Ayeyarwaddy Division on September 14 while the weather is expected to be clear in Mandalay Division.
However, flood warning has been issued in Mandalay Division due to the water level rising past the release level in hydro plant dams even though the rain may have stopped.
Similarly in Magway Division and Bago Division (eastern and western sides), the water level has passed the release level in dams and the residents of towns and villages under those dams are advised to be cautious and evacuate in time if necessary. Rain water and water released from the dams in central Myanmar can also lead to rising river water levels in Bago Division and Ayeyarwaddy Division and hence the residents are advised to prepare for potential floods.
