SOUTH KOREA- In Incheon City, a Myanmar citizen went on a hunger strike and received 100 million kyats for donation in more than 26 hours (over a day).
On September 16 morning, in Incheon City, near Bupyeong station roundabout, Mr. Hlaing Gyi went on a hunger strike to commemorate his 28th birthday and raise 100 million kyats for the war refugees in Anyar Region (Central Myanmar) and the special operations of Myingyan District PDF.
The hunger strike began at 10:20 a.m. on September 16 (South Korean time) and on September 17th exactly at noon, his target was reached. Revolutionary Fundraiser Mr. Hlaing Gyi posted on his social network and thanked donors from the local and various countries.
” Our comrades were tortured and killed but junta troops in Myingyan District. Battles are still ongoing. Many people including civilians died in the junta’s aerial attacks. Therefore, I am raising funds to support the PDG troops in getting the necessary equipment and speed up the military offensives,” stated Comrade Hlaing Gyi.
Similarly, Mr. Aung Kyaw Hein from the “Overthrow of the Stone Age Group” in South Korea reportedly joined the hunger strike. Revolutionists and supporters, including CDM Captain Lin Htet Aung and Burmese immigrants, came and supported him personally or from social networks.
“Some people don’t understand being hurt unless they were harmed. But, there are others who would willingly support for the sake of peace in Myanmar, whether using it on the revolution, or for the war refugees, or the recent floods in Myanmar. I would also like to thank all the foreign support groups who are trying so bravely even if they cannot fight in the armed revolution,” stated the leader, Lieutenant Mite Khe, of the Myingyan Black Tiger Force.
Even though the hunger strike fundraising reached the target of 100 million kyats, donations continued to be received and those would be also used for war refugees and special operations of Myingyan District, Mr. Hlaing Gyi notified the donors.
Myingyan District Special Operations started on August 10, in Myingyan, Natogyi, and Taungtha towns, and resistance forces were able to occupy many military council camps, including those camps in the city. The Junta council reportedly launched aerial attacks and several civilian casualties were reported.
