THAILAND- The seventeenth anniversary of the Saffron Revolution was reportedly held in Mae Sot City, Thailand, on September 18, said the Monk Min Thonya.
The ceremony was attended by the (Burmese) monks, including those who participated in the Saffron Revolution, and commemoration speeches regarding the Saffron Revolution were given.
(Saffron Revolution was a non-violent protest movement against the military government, led by Burmese monks in late August until mid- September 2007 when military used (lethal) violence to disperse the crowd. It was a remarkable revolutionary movement led by religious leaders (monks) in Myanmar.)
