SHAN STATE – The terrorist junta army reportedly carried out aerial bombings on Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) – controlled Nawnghkio Town, at around 3:00 a.m., on September 19, destroying residential houses and no one was injured, according to locals.
On September 19, at around 3:00 a.m., the junta’s Y12 aircraft bombarded on area (4) of block (1) in Bu Tar Ward, Nawnghkio Township. Although there was no civilian casualty, residential houses were destroyed by attacks. Residents said that the airstrike attacks occurred in the early morning, when the people were in deep sleep, and people were scared and had to move to buildings and bomb shelters that would be bomb-proof.
“The sound of the aircraft that dropped the bombs was very noisy. It was hovering around the town and dropped the bombs. There were about eight bombs. There were eight-time explosions. The junta’s Y12 bombed twice. No one was injured. The residents moved to bomb-proof areas in the early morning, as they were afraid of another round of aerial bombardments. I couldn’t sleep again. The junta’s aircrafts frequently flew in the previous days,” said a resident of Nawnghkio.
The terrorist junta council had implemented Yan Naing Min operations to recapture the lost territories, and continuously carried out airstrike attacks with its aircrafts in Shan (North) State and Karenni State. The junta launched aerial bombings on Namhkan Town and Pekon Town, on September 5 and 6, killing 20 civilians, including seven children.
