KACHIN STATE – Locals reported that the terrorist junta army bombarded with its fighter jets on Hseng Taung of Hpakant Township, on the afternoon of September 22.
On September 22, at 12:45 p.m., and 12:58 p.m., the two junta’s fighter jets bombed Hseng Taung of Hpakant Township. Moreover, the encounters were raging between the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) led Revolutionary Forces and the terrorist junta army in Hseng Taung. The residential houses in Hseng Taung were on fire due to the junta’s artillery shelling.
“Today, the junta army bombed Hseng Taung with its fighter jets. A bomb landed in Hseng Taung and another bomb landed near the jade office in Yu Mar. The junta dogs (military soldiers) stationed at the jade office. Residential houses were also on fire in Hseng Taung because of junta’s artillery firing. Fighting is still going on in Hseng Taung,” said a local news source.
Almost all of the residents of Hpakant had evacuated and there were only a few people left in Hpakant Town. The residents of Hpakant had fled to nearby towns and villages. The military situation was tense between the junta army and the Revolutionary Forces. The entire Hpakant Town was blocked by the KIA and People’s Defence Force (PDF).
