MYANMAR – The National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC) urged the international community to block and take action on the unjust executions of the terrorist junta council.
In its September 24 statement, the NUCC asked the ASEAN, UN, international governments and organisations to effectively block and punish the junta council for its cold-blooded, atrocious murders according to international laws and also added that the NUCC will cooperate with the in-country and out-of-country forces and international community to take action on the terrorist junta council and find justice for the victims.
The NUCC explained that the terrorist junta council has sentenced the unjustly detained activists to various sentences including the death penalty and had hanged Mr. Jimmy, Mr. Phyo Zayar Thaw, Mr. Hla Myo Aung and Mr. Aung Thura Zaw in August, 2022, continuing that news have emerged about how the terrorist junta council has been preparing to hang or have hanged more activists but it is difficult to confirm those news due to the junta regime keeping it in the dark.
However, as the junta council is merely a criminal gang that stole the power from the government elected by the people, they have no rights to trial the people and as such, the junta council detaining and sentencing people is illegitimate and it also has no authority to give out death sentences. The NUCC pointed out that all such actions by the junta council are repeated crimes.
In addition, the NUCC said that sentencing people to death without facing off in battles is a blatant violation of the basic human rights to survival, strongly condemned the unjust executions carried out by the terrorist junta council and asked for an immediate stop.
