BAGO DIVISION – Comrade Duuyar, the information officer of Battalion 3802, Tharyarwaddy District, said that Mr. Aung Maung, an IDP, was killed by a mine planted by the junta council when he returned to take food from the village in Letpandan Township, Bago Division.
On September 23, at about 9 p.m, Mr. Aung Maung (refugee from Yayngan Village) was injured by a land mine planted by junta forces when he returned to the village to bring food. Although a social volunteer group was contacted to come and collect the patient, the junta forces didn’t allow them to enter the village. As a result, he bled to death.
“He was hit by a mine and lost his leg. The junta didn’t allow the volunteer team who came to bring him to the hospital, to enter the village so he died without receiving medical treatment. Mr. Aung Maung was 32 years old. He left his wife and an infant child,” said Comrade Duuyar.
