On September 26 around 7 a.m., a large number of terrorist junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee militants from junta light infantry 15 in Myingyan raided Phonywa Village then abducted and murdered 53 year old Mr. Aung Kyaw Zin, 52 year old Mr. Ye Win and 45 year old Mr. Kyaw Swar Win, and also burned down the three houses belonging to them.
“They (junta forces) murdered the people and also burned down the houses. They left after that. We haven’t heard yet if any more people were abducted. The villagers are fleeing. We have yet to find out if the murdered have any family members,” said the local news source.
Out of the three murdered by the terrorist junta forces, Mr. Ye Win and Mr. Kyaw Swar Win were said to be brothers who had worked as Ward/Village administration officers during the NLD government term. It is said that the junta forces placed swords in the hands of the victims after murdering them, took photos and left the village.
