SHAN STATE – Junta Captain Zwe Mahn Oo from Mongkhat based infantry battalion 328 in eastern Shan State and wife Aye Thandar Win reportedly scammed hundreds of millions in Kyats from 50 people, reported the victims.
Mrs. Aye Thandar Win, a teacher at Mongkhat Basic Education High School, reportedly scammed the victims claiming that the cash is for an online business.
“They gathered shares online. There were many victims. Hundreds of millions of Kyats were scammed. Now, she is not returning the money but threatening the victims who called her out using the army, threatening to take them to the martial court,” said a victim.
Although the scam was reported to the authorities, it is said that no actions were taken. Captain Zwe Mahn Oo is a graduate of DSA Batch 61 and is reportedly abusing his position to block all cases against them.
Junta infantry battalion 328 was contacted to inquire about the captain but cannot be reached.
