KACHIN STATE – Kachin Independence Army (KIA) reportedly captured the base of Border Guard Force (BGF) under control of junta council on Chipwi – Pang War Road, on the morning of October 2, according to some military news sources.
Kachin military news source said on social media that the KIA acquired the camp of BGF division on Chipwi – Pang War Road, 11-mile, at 10:30 a.m., on October 3.
Another source also informed that the KIA was able to capture the camp under the junta council at 11 miles.
Similarly, in the junta’s propaganda telegram, it was written that the KIA has seized some military bases in the Pang War area and continued to attack Pang War Town.
“The guard posts were captured. In fact, Kachin Special Region (1) will soon be captured,” wrote the junta’s propaganda telegram channel.
The joint forces of KIA and the Kachin Region People’s Defence Force (KPDF) were able to capture Chipwi Town, control area of Mr. Zahkung Ting Ying led Kachin Special Region (1), at the end of September, and also seized Tsawlaw Town on October 2.
A military source informed that during the towns capturing battles, the junta’s prisoners of war were captured, and weapons and ammunition were confiscated.
Colonel Naw Bu, spokesman of KIA, confirmed that KIA captured Chipwi and Tsalaw towns and conducted area clearance. The military situation between Chipwi and Pang War was under confirmation with him.
